To me, this Gospel always begs the Question "Would I recognize Christ if he was to be in our midst?" Probably the more pertinent Question is: "Do I recognize Christ in the people I meet?"  Do I have the courage to enable their voice and confront the naysayers as Nicodemus did in the Gospel?  Or do I believe that anyone who speaks unlike me or believes unlike me has been deceived and are the 'Other' in our lives.  I try really hard to not be in the latter category, but also find it really difficult to keep an open mind and ear in the other of this political race.  Sometimes I just have to shut it down and pray for our world.
